The idea of having a fellowship of evangelical believers joined together in a local church dedicated to cultivating a deeper life in Christ and fulfilling His command to make disciples of all nations was conceived in the hearts of Bob and Patty Hambright and Joe and Sara Cherry.

After moving to Sienna from Wyoming, these families took the faith-filled risk of making contact with Parkway Fellowship and Charles Smith, Director of the Greater Houston Multiplication Center (GHX). Little did they know that Charles was at the helm of a church-planting movement that was looking for families willing to risk it all for Jesus and see healthy Great Commission churches planted in their communities.
Beginning with a community Bible Study in their home, these families soon welcomed William and Helen Eng into their midst and, with the help of the Alliance, invited Chris and Karla Carroll to lead this journey as church-planting pastors in the fall of 2008.
In January 2009, Sienna Family Fellowship began holding public gatherings at Sienna Kids Academy. Based on the priorities of Jesus’ life as revealed in the Great Commission, our goal was simply to “proclaim the good news of God’s grace in Jesus Christ, participate in the life-long nurture of people’s faith, and prepare all believers for effective ministry.”
We wanted to be a family of ordinary people empowered by an extraordinary God, ordinary people who were committed to displaying the character and priorities of Jesus’ life both in our personal lives and in our corporate life as a community of faith.
Our congregation grew steadily and, in September of 2009, we moved our weekly gatherings to Club Sienna at the invitation of Sienna Plantation Residential Association.
